*********
It was around ten in the morning when I first saw you. You were in your early twenties, 5'8, moreno, and lean. You had deep set eyes, a perfect nose, and a fabulous set of pearly whites and you had dimples too. You wore a white long sleeved shirt and a purple vest as a uniform.
"Hi sir... coffee po?", you asked when you saw me come out of the meeting room.
I smiled and gratefully acknowledge the offer.
"Thanks... black lang.", I replied.
You prepared me a cup while I took a sandwich from the table. You looked at me and smiled as you handed me the cup. I melted.
*********
I saw you again just before lunch, you were manning the area while I got myself a glass of water. I yawned.
"Sir, antok na?", it was you.
I giggled.
"Yeah... boring sa loob eh..."
You smiled.
"Damn... cute talaga...", I whispered.
I retreated once more.
*********
I saw you again during lunch. There were four waiters assisting the event. I saw you hand over bread trays and a butter selection at the other table. You looked at me and smiled. I looked at you and gave you a half-smile.
"Sir, scallop salad...", it was you.
I looked at you as you placed the plate before me. You smiled again.
"Shit naman o... smile lang ng smile...", I muttered.
*********
Lunch was over when I saw you again. I was getting my nth cup of coffee. Apparently, you were sitting in the other room. You stood up when you saw me approach the table.
"Sir, how was lunch?", you asked."Ah hindi buffet...", I replied."Pero masarap...", I smiled.
You smiled again.
"Sir, taga san po kayo?", you asked."Ah Ortigas...""Dun ang office?", you clarified."Yeah...""Eh san ka nakatira?", you asked."Dun din...", I smiled again.
That was when I felt confused.
"Tristan naman eh... official business to...", I whispered.
You continued telling me your story. That you've been with the hotel for more than a couple of years and that you were the Captain Waiter. You told me the basics - where you lived, what you did, your schedule. I simply listened.
"Ask for his number...", I heard my perverted self say.
But I stopped myself.
"I am on official business... it's not gonna work Tristan....", I argued with myself.
I sighed.
*********
I thought you had already gone when I went out for afternoon coffee. I felt a little sad not seeing you there. I looked around and wandered the corridor hoping to see you somewhere. You were nowhere to be found. Until after six. I left the room to pee and then I saw you again. You smiled at me once more. I shivered and smiled back.
"He's baaaaack!!!", I silently exclaimed."Hi sir... naghintay na lang ako... dapat kasi 3 alis na ko eh...""Oh e di overtime na to?", I asked."Yeah... pero okay lang...", you were smiling."Tristan, game na...", I begged myself.
But again, my professional self stopped me again.
"No Tristan. Don't be a slut. At least not here.", I commanded myself.
I felt sad.
"What a day to meet someone hot...", I muttered.
We continued to converse while I waited for my colleagues.
"Sir, uwi ka na ba derecho?", you asked."Uhmm, yeah.. ikaw?""Ah okay... ako din po...""Wala ka bang gimik?", you asked."Wala nga eh... ikaw ba?""Bahala na...", I finally replied.
I excused myself when I saw my boss.
"Boss, I have a moral and ethical dilemma...", and then I started explaining the situation."Oi Tristan, behave.", she replied."Eto na nga eh... behaved na nga e...", I said laughing."Sino ba to?", she asked."Si Kapitan.", I replied.
And then I saw you. You were assisting some colleagues with the trolley filled with boxes. You looked at me and smiled. I acknowledged your presence. My boss saw you and she knew. She smiled at me. You stopped beside me while you waited for my colleagues. We got talking again. I took out my phone and was just about to ask you for your number when I stopped myself again.
"Shit shit... hindi talaga pwede...", I was desperate."Sir, san ka madalas gumigimik?""Ah ako? Kahit saan... ikaw?""Dito lang kami... malapit... sa may Malate...", you replied.
I heard bells.
"Ako din... sa may...", I paused and started to think."Sa may Silya madalas...", I continued."Hindi ko pwedeng sabihin sa Bed eh...", I thought."Ah oo nakita ko na yun.", you replied."Usually Sabado... mga 11...", I explained.
You grinned.
"Baka makita kita dun...""Eh di mabuti...", I said smiling.
I saw my boss again at the hotel lobby. She was grinning at me.
"Tristan, bata pa yun ah... pero gwapo ah...", she commented."I did well naman, di ba?", I asked laughing."Basta be good.""I am."
After you loaded the last box in the trunk, I handed the office's tip.
"Ingat sir...", you said smiling."Sige, salamat...", I replied."Sir...", you paused.
You looked at me and I understood what you wanted to say.
"I know how it feels Kapitan...", I whispered.
I smiled at you and turned my back. At that moment, I knew that I chickened out. It was not usual for me but, this time, I did what was right.
"I'm sorry Kapitan...", I sighed.
"I can be immoral but today, I choose to be ethical."
I looked at you as you walked away. You turned around one last time and smiled. I smiled back.
"In time Kapitan... if it is fated, I will see you in Silya, Malate on a Saturday around 11 pm, in time..."
Blogger's Note: I promised myself that I will not have sex this week. I will try to be holy... and the operative word is try.
