The Secret is Out

The cave of missing secrets (cute no?) in Bora is much like the one in Galera (or so I heard). I learned of this late last year when I first read this in some online gay travel guide. Allegedly, things happen in that side of the island around five in the afternoon just before sunset. It was later reconfirmed by an island boy who I got to talk to (and more).

"Lakad ka lang papunta dun around five...", so the island boys says.

"Mapapansin mo mga ganung oras may mga naglalakad na din kasabay mo..." he continued

"Really?", I was extremely curious.

"Yeah... basta ingat lang.", he advised.

I found myself walking the long stretch of the island. When I got there, it was kind of freaky, it was still empty. I stayed for a while and admired the famous sunset which, in reality, is just the same old freaking sunset that we always have. The difference here is that before sunset everybody's already drunk. But I digress.

"Eh lokohan pala to eh...", I muttered.

I finally decided to walk back. It was gonna be a long walk since I knew that each step I took going there would be the same number of steps I would take going back. I was tired and I was still drunk. I wished for teleportation. But I digress again.

"Oh shit, may parating...", I panicked.

Yes, I saw two guys... which became three... and four... and after that, it was already a party. I looked at all of them with amazement. Everybody sat down in their little corners trying to look discreet. We were all poker faced but we knew what was about to happen. Each one had a game to play: "guess the bottom". I looked at all of them one more time; one island boy after the other, all half naked. After a minute or so, I stood up.

"Tangna, bottom lahat."

And just like that, I was sober.
